France's second largest banking group, BPCE, chooses eZ Publish for Web Content Management

Oct. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- As part of its strategic plan, the BPCE decided they needed an Internet portal based on next-generation tools for a dynamic and scalable platform, capable of supporting all different content types. With those requirements in mind, the BPCE technical teams studied the different possibilities on the market finally settling on the Open Source platform, eZ Publish 4.2 for its flexibility and its various advanced features.

The project was led by BPCE's communication management group in collaboration with the IT department which focused on implementation. Most of the development on the eZ Publish content platform was carried out internally (with help from eZ's Gold Business Partner SQLI). eZ Publish 4.2 provided BPCE with a wide range of advanced features that made implementation faster and easier.

Some key features employed by BPCE include :

The eZ Flow module enables teams to define layouts consisting of easily managed blocks that display content. Technically, every layout is a template.
The eZ Find module Enterprise Search capabilities allow users to quickly find information.
BPCE customized elements to meet its requirements: notably for the design of the site, as well as a deployment extension to facilitate updates and add-ons to optimize video creation.
BPCE also uses advanced caching rules to optimize access to the portal.
The first version of the portal was launched in less than six weeks. The second version, currently in production, was delivered after four months. As an eZ Publish Enterprise Platinum customer, BPCE also enjoys the direct support of eZ Systems. BPCE can continuously evolve the project to integrate the best of the eZ Publish platform. The next step is to upgrade the platform to eZ Publish Enterprise 4.4--the latest release.
