Lee Enterprise Biodiesel Consulting Group Adds Federal Bidding and Native American Liaison

Oct. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Biodiesel consulting group, Lee Enterprises of Little Rock, Ark., is pleased to announce the addition of Angela Young to its team of consultants.  Young received her B.A. from the University of South Dakota and her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law.  She is an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe, and a USMC Desert Storm Veteran.   She previously served as the Director of Tribal Affairs for Renewable Energy & Water, LLC working in the area of tribal business development, and alternative energy projects on tribal lands.  She has been a Native American tribal consultant in the alternative fuels arena for many years and comes to Lee Enterprises to assist with Federal Contract Procurement and the implementation of Native American biofuel and refinery projects on Native lands.    

Firm owner, Wayne Lee, says that Young’s history with Native American alternative energy projects, federal bidding, and experience in project procurement and management, brings the firm a highly marketable combination that is very unique in the industry.   "Angela has unique qualifications that are very important to us in the alternative fuels arena" said Lee. Young said that “Energy and utility companies are involved in new processes to evaluate and form strategic alliances or ventures with tribes to develop our nation's energy resources more than ever before.    She also noted that “As the population on tribal lands grows and economic development improves, many tribes are increasingly faced with the challenge of meeting energy needs with little but vast unused portions of land. This has made biofuel an obvious choice, and greater chances of successes can be found where there is an ongoing alliance with a company familiar with Native American cultural identity and values.

This is Lee Enterprises fourth addition in the past two months.  Last month, the company announced the addition of John Hardy as its corporate counsel in the Little Rock headquarters, and Thomas Anhorn to handle cold soak and filtration matters.  Earlier this month, the company added Kent Bullard for BQ9000 and quality assurance matters.  "In the past couple of months, we expanded a bit faster than I had anticipated” said Lee, “but with the RFS2 mandates coming to the ‘front burner’, I think we have the best consulting team in the industry and are ready to handle virtually any biodiesel related matter that a client may face."  Lee said that although the biodiesel industry had undergone a couple of tough years, the industry finally looked to be gathering significant momentum.  “The failure of the Senate to pass the tax credit and ‘election year politics’ certainly kept the industry down longer than necessary” said Lee.   “However, the RFS2 mandate deadlines are becoming a near term reality for the big oil companies, and the general public seems to be getting quite a bit more outspoken in its demand that the country wean itself off of foreign oil”.   Lee believes that it is an exciting time to be in the industry, which he says will play a significant role in the future of the United States – politically, economically, environmentally and most importantly, with respect national security.
