UK Facebook Statistics for October 2010

Oct. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- As it stands, Facebook has profiled almost 28 million active users in the UK – that’s almost half the population of the whole country. In Europe there are over 127 million active users which is a 15% increase overall since March this year; a phenomenal 17 million new active users in only 6 months which is equivalent to the population of Beijing.

As for how the UK is split by age we can see that three quarters of our active users are aged between 13 – 39, with one quarter of users aged 40+. There has been a significant rise in the number of over 40s using Facebook and the number has risen from around 7 million active users in January to around 15 million active users in this age group to date.

The Male/Female divide continues to stay pretty much 50/50 with a few hundred thousand more women using Facebook than Men. This hasn’t really changed much at all over the year and seems to be a steady trend.
