Oct. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.--The Conejo Valley YMCA has a new head swim coach. Melissa (Missy) McIntyre will be training the Conejo Valley YMCA's Sharks swim team as they compete in regional swim meets.

McIntrye trained under Mark Schubert (USC and current U.S. Olympic Team coach) as well as other top swim coaches in the country. She participated in the 2004 Olympic Swim Trials.

"I can't wait to share everything I've learned with our YMCA swimmers and instill a love of swimming and being part of a team," says McIntrye, who earned seven state swim titles while in high school.

"Missy worked with USC swim coach Mark Schubert teaching kids at summer swim camp," says Patrick Yarrow, Conejo Y's associate executive director. "She's an encouraging, positive person that gets kids excited about coming to practice and doing their best."

The Conejo Valley YMCA offers a full spectrum of aquatic programs for children and adults including year round indoor/outdoor swim lessons, pre-swim team stroke lessons, three levels of swim teams and a high school-specific swim technique and endurance program.

The YMCA is at (4031 N. Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks). For more information about its swim program, go to http://www.sevymca.org or call 805-523-7613.
