Oct. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- GREGORY ISAACS, WE STILL WANT MORE..
(Kingston, Jamaica 10-26-10)   This writer grew up listening to Gregory Isaacs and like many Reggae fans worldwide young and old knew of this man through his music. So on Monday October 25th when news broke of his death, it came as no surprise when my daughter at fifteen years old expressed sentiments about him, she said “mom do you know that while in class today one girl started singing and the entire class joined as if in a choir, the chorus of Gregory Isaac’s, Night Nurse song?” Gregory Isaacs is dead but Reggae music will live on as a result of his and other great Reggae legends like him, songwriting skills and expertise.  Mr. Gregory Isaacs, “You have left us, walk good, your musical journey was such that, “We still want more” R.I.P.

Dancehall Artiste Bramma Pushes On!
Dancehall artiste Bramma recently returned home from Canada where he was invited to tour with Elephant Man.  “This is just great exposure for Bramma,” he said when asked about how he felt about it, “the timing could not have been better because I have often heard stories of how popular my music is in a number of Canadian cities but have never been there to see for myself.”  Bramma performed in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Scarborough, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Oshawa, Edmonton and Halifax while on the road with Elephant Man.  What he had heard about his music and its popularity there he discovered, was also true.  Songs such as Defend Mi Own, Send Me an Angel and Some People featuring Steven McGregor have been receiving steady rotation on most Reggae/Dancehall stations.
To capitalize on the publicity, Bramma did a number of radio interviews and social interactions before leaving for Miami where he got an opportunity to perform on stage with the likes of Freddie McGregor, Marcia Griffiths and Mickey Spice at the Gulf Stream Race Track.  It was Elephant Man who introduced him to the audience during his set and though nervous, Bramma thought he handled himself well and performed a song that he thought was fitting for a mature audience. That song was the Steven McGregor produced “It’s Wateva” track on the Day Rave rhythm, “I got a good response from the audience but nothing beats the exposure gained from all this,” said the Calabar past student.
Looking ahead towards the Christmas season, the 23 year old focuses on promoting tracks now in rotation on radio such as ‘When She Wine’ on the Championship rhythm, ‘The Song’ a potential hit that gave him his debut airplay on New York Hot 97 radio station last Sunday October 24th and a new release entitle, “Here She Goes” all of which are produced on the Big Ship Label.  Bramma also looks forward to the release of a hot new single entitled, “Tell You Say You Bad” produced by Truckback Records.

Sophia Brown New and Improved Recordings is Recognized!
In less than one week, Sophia Brown who has professed that her most loved offspring of Reggae is Lovers Rock and her niche as an artiste in the industry is same, has seen her newly improved music promoted to two important charts, the New York Top 30 Reggae Singles and Chris Coxson Top 10 Reggae on New Style Radio in the United Kingdom.
One year ago a decision was taken by Sophia Brown to chart a plan that involved improving specific areas in her music production such as voice control and projection as well enhanced sound quality of her music.  Sophia Brown had already been known as a hard worker but needed a team to alleviate her workload so the way forward was to select that team to carry out certain responsibilities while she concentrates on recording.

Today, the results are encouraging; Sophia Brown is very much appreciative of the contributions of several individuals in her team who worked with her through the year to get to this point.  However, there is much left to be done but the mother of two, is confident that the positive feedback she has been getting from fellow artistes, people within the industry and fans has come from the work she has put in, “people love to see other people do well despite a broad felt perspective of otherwise.  The truth is when you out there trying people will shun you but when you show them that you are strong and can do this the same people will come tell you, good job SB” she said with a broad smile to compliment her statement.
Sophia Brown celebrated her birthday last Saturday partying with most of the persons who have been, “looking out” for her at her private residence.  Among her list of guests were fellow artistes, radio jocks, Producer, and news editor.
