Oct. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- HENDERSON, Nev. – Gift Planning Advisors, comprised of Nevada State College Foundation and five other local non-profit organizations, held “Looking Ahead SM – making wise choices in a challenging economy,” a conference for estate planning professionals on including charitable gifts in estates and wills.

Gift Planning Advisors was formed in 2008 to create awareness of the six charter organizations, including: Nevada State College Foundation; Desert Research Institute Foundation; Boy Scouts of America, Las Vegas Area Council; Henderson Community Foundation; St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation; and The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.  The group seeks to provide a premier venue in Nevada for the exchange of sophisticated gift planning ideas and techniques.

“Fundraising is critical for non-profit organizations, and the Nevada State College Foundation realizes the philanthropic potential of encouraging people to consider NSC as part of their estate planning,” added Di Mare.  “We are proud to join the other charter members of Gift Planning Advisors in encouraging Nevadans to give back to their community through future philanthropic contributions.”

The conference offered presentations from leading national experts on topics ranging from “Charitable Giving and the Tax Code” to “Five Step Process to Healthy Family Governance.”  Close to 100 estate planners, attorneys, accountants and similar professionals attended.
