Cole’s Garden Grants “Ageless Dream” for Emerald Square Resident

Nov. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Marie Webber loves plants and landscaping. For years she worked to groom her yard and raised beautiful plants in her greenhouse. But in recent years, it became more difficult to keep up. Marie started to need help from time to time just to remember medications and meals, and she decided it was time to make a move from her home to a new community. Marie moved to Emerald Square Assisted Living, and made lots of new friends. She enjoys her days and the activities that keep her calendar as full as she wants it to be. Still, Marie dreams of her plants and experiencing botanical life in beautiful Gardens.

As part of an ageless dreams program, Emerald Square presents “It’s Your Day” for residents. This week, it was Marie’s turn. True to her love, Marie asked to visit a botanical garden. Becca Hybl and the staff at Cole’s Garden hosted Marie and her friends for a wonderful afternoon to make Marie’s day great. Upon arrival at the beautiful garden, the group embarked on a tour. They learned a number of interesting facts about the grounds and plant life at Cole’s. Even in early fall, Marie enjoyed the aromas of the garden as well as delighting in the assortment of trees and shrubbery. In one area, she was amazed at the beautiful blend of roses and holly. That area reminded her of her own landscaping at home.

After the tour of the garden, the group was presented a floral arranging session in one of the magnificent event rooms available at the garden. Here, Cole’s provided vases and an assortment of flowers and greenery so that Marie and her friends could create and take home a beautiful keepsake of their afternoon. The entire experience reminded Marie that each plant is unique, and she says, “if we listen each has something of life to share with us.”
