ACTOR WENDELL PIERCE AND NEW ORLEANS MAYOR MITCH LANDRIEU HELP KICKOFF THE 37TH ANNUAL STATE FARM BAYOU CLASSIC®
PRESS CONFERENCE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22

WHAT:     The kick-off press conference for the State Farm Bayou Classic® featuring the intrastate rivalry between the Tigers of Grambling State University and the Jaguars of Southern University, the “Granddaddy” of black college football
   

WHO:     Three-time NAACP Image Award Nominated Actor Wendell Pierce, star of the HBO series Treme, which is based in post-Katrina New Orleans; The Honorable Mayor Mitch Landrieu of New Orleans; Stephen Perry President/CEO of the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau; State Farm Agent James Wagner; Players, Coaches and Athletic Directors from Southern and Grambling State Universities

   ***Southern University Player Jordan Mitchell and Grambling State University Player Frank Warren, State Farm and Other Guests will be available for interviews.***


WHEN:    Monday, November 22 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

WHERE:   Louisiana Superdome

The action begins on Friday, November 26 with a full-slate of events, including the one-day KaBOOM! Playground build at Intercultural Charter School, Super Job and College Fair, Coaches’ Luncheon and the legendary Battle of the Bands and Greek Show.  Then Saturday the day kicks off with the  Fan Festival featuring live entertainment and the Classic’s first Free Health Fair sponsored by the HIV/AIDS Program and The Black Barbershop Health Outreach Project; culminating with the 37th Annual State Farm Bayou Classic where the Tigers and Jaguars will face off to break the 18-18 series tie.
