Denver Christkindl Market Planning for 2011 Announced

Dec. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Denver, Colo. – Planning for the 2011 Denver Christkindl Market will be under the direction of Karl Schmidt and Paul Maricle the Colorado Chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC-CO) announced. Both Schmidt and Maricle were founding board members of the GACC-CO and were instrumental in bringing the original Christkindl Market to Denver in 1999.

The GACC-CO is already in search of additional vendors offering Christmas items as well as food and drink for the 2011 Denver Christkindl Market (www.DenverChristKindlMarket.com). Board members met with long-time vendor Andriy Shaptala of Gifts From Afar to discuss planning for the 2011 event. The Denver Christkindl Market is produced by the GACC-CO along with the German Cultural Foundation and features vendors from Germany and other European countries, as well as local artisans, offering offer quality, handcrafted gift items including traditional hand-carved wooden figurines, handmade candles, and ornaments. Traditional German food, bratwurst, potato pancakes, goulash and apple strudel to tempt your taste buds are also available at the market.

Although the event for 2010 was cancelled due to the sudden resignation of the market’s long-time manager, the 2011 event will again return to Denver’s Skyline Park and run from Thanksgiving weekend through shortly before Christmas.
