Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University inaugurates National Conference @ Heritage, Kolkata

On 6th and 7th January, 2011, Heritage Institute of Technology organized a National Conference on Instrumentation and Control in association with CSIR, CDAC, DRDO, IEEE, ISA kolkata and many more.

Jan. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- The conference started with a welcome address by Professor Arun Kumar Ray who was the Organizing Chair for the conference followed by lamp lighting ceremony and inauguration by the Chief Guest, Professor P.N.Ghosh, the Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University. Eminent research and academic professionals were present in the inaugural programme like Professor S.C. DuttaRoy Emeritus Faculty, Dept. of Elec. Engg, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Col. A.K.Nath, Exec. Director, CDAC, Kolkata , Professor N.C.Shivprakash, Dept. of Instrumentation, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Karnataka, Professor B.B.Poira, Director, Heritage Institute of Technology, Shri Probir Roy, Executive Director, Kalyan Bharti Trust, Professor Dipak C. Patranabis, Academic Convenor, National Conference and Shri Pradip Kumar Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer, Heritage Group of Institutions, Kolkata.

After the lamp-lighting ceremony, Professor P.N. Ghosh, Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University opined that the conference will definitely enlighten the students and the academic world with the latest development in instrumentation, which is imperative not only in the industrial world but also in the world of Medical education. He also inspired the prospective engineers from the students' community to give more stress in their core subjects so as to prosper and grow further in the career ladder towards contributing to the Knowledge Economy. As a result of which, he said that many students should also simultaneously make career in academics and research so that India can multiply its research capabilities rapidly producing more research oriented institutions developing the Indian economy. Apart from this, he also added that software Sectoral growth in the Indian economy is not the only barometer of economic development and increase in employment but also the core sectors represent the backbone of any economy like Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and many more. There are also many branches of engineering coming up especially in pharmaceuticals as well as Health care sectors.

After this, Professor B.B. Poira opined about the Heritage Institute of Technology, a centre of excellence in self financed institution, which is promoted by 23 industrialists based in Kolkata poised towards nation-building identifying investment in education as a philanthrophic approach towards reviving the economic identity of the society.

More than 100 delegates were there in the conference from the academic and research world from various institutions across India. It was indeed a remarkable event in 10 glorious years of Heritage Group of Institutions
