Oxycodone Addiction Expert Comes to Challenges

Jan. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Prescription drug abuse is one of the biggest health crises in the state of Florida today. Oxycodone alone was responsible for more deaths in Florida in 2009 than cocaine, heroin and morphine combined and is the number ONE killer of middle-aged Floridians. The death toll in the state in 2009 was just about 3,000 – and a wake up call for state officials as well as those involved in the health care field.

Challenges Addiction and Relapse Prevention Treatment Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL is committed to helping educate professionals about the dangers of prescription drug addiction, and about Oxycodone in particular. In January, as part of their Advanced Clinical Skills Training Workshop series, Challenges is featuring Dr. Sanford M. Silverman, one of the leading experts in Oxycodone addiction.
