CHASE AWAY THE WINTER BLUES WITH HOT JAZZ AND COOL PEOPLE AT JAZZ UNDER THE STARS ON JANUARY 27, 2011

WHO:    The Young Friends of the Saint Louis Science Center and the Young Friends of Jazz St. Louis

WHAT:         These two young friends organizations have joined together to host “Jazz Under the Stars,” a much-needed break from the winter blues and fundraiser to support the efforts of the Saint Louis Science Center and Jazz St. Louis.

The evening will feature the contemporary jazz sounds of the Eric Slaughter Trio, with special guests Jason Swagler and Zelina Bott Goins. It’s the perfect jump start to the outdoor music festival season. To add to the vibe, Claire Kellett, co-anchor of the Awake with News 4 morning team will serve as the evening’s emcee.

In between the three live acts of jazz, the stars will shine in the planetarium during three spectacular star shows. The event cost is $35 and includes two drink tickets, appetizers and complimentary valet parking.
   
WHEN:   Jazz Under the Stars will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.                        

WHERE:  This “see-and-be-seen” event for the under 40 set will be held at the James S. McDonnell Planetarium at the Saint Louis Science Center in Forest Park.
