Follow on Google News | ILC DOVER’s SCape® CBRN 30 Escape Hood Receives CE MarkILC Dover, the company that manufactures spacesuits for NASA, announced today that their SCape® CBRN 30 Air Purifying Escape Respirator now has a CE marking. The certification was granted by the British Standards Institution.
By: Stephanie Arthurs The SCape® CBRN 30 was approved by NIOSH in October 2005 and has been the CBRN escape hood of choice for a wide number of government agencies both in the U.S. and internationally. The device is easy to don and incorporates an auto-on blower that delivers clean filtered air and excellent protection to the wearer. The blown air and totally clear hood reduce the physiological burden and dramatically improve the wearer comfort when compared to other escape hoods. Addition of a CE mark will allow the SCape® product to be actively marketed in EU. This latest approval builds on proven ILC Dover technology in creating military and civilian respirators, such as the M40 for the military and the Sentinel XL® CBRN Powered Air Purifying Respirator. The latter offers twice the filter protection of any other NIOSH CBRN PAPR and has been selected for use by a number of hospitals and CBRN task forces. # # # Since 1947, ILC Dover has provided engineered solutions to complex customer problems, serving the aerospace, personal protection and pharmaceutical industries.
