New Year Brings New Business Opportunities for Immigrant Designers/Stylists

Feb. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Celebrity stylists and designers Monica and Barbara Abbatemaggio—whose clients include Paz de la Huerta, Phoebe Cates and Bette Midler—will officially launch Sorelle Firenze, their new styling consultancy firm February 14.

Formerly the name of their Tribeca boutique, which was popular with top fashion editors and trendy shoppers alike, Sorelle Firenze featured an eclectic mix of feminine, exquisitely tailored clothing. The girly shop, made homey with Barbara’s abstract paintings and a mannequin resplendent in a gold-beaded mesh wedding gown, transported visitors to a boutique reminiscent of a corner in Ponte Vecchio. Now rebranded as a full-service styling consultancy, Sorelle Firenze will provide services including:

•   Wardrobe, home and special event styling
•   Personal shopping and closet organization
•   Custom designs for weddings and special events

This rebirth was formed in part by feedback the two Italian immigrants received when operating the boutique. Says Monica Abbatemaggio, “Women were admiring our style and how we put ourselves together. We started giving fashion advice rather authentically.” Adds Barbara: “People were vocal about their appreciation of our shop’s aesthetic. Soon we were getting requests to style homes and special events. We figured this could be our next focus.”

With the launch of their new website (www.SorelleFirenze.com) and company the Abbatemaggio sisters hope to show women how easy it can be to exude femininity in all aspects of their life. “Women are so busy these days that they forget to dress in a way that will make them appear and feel beautiful, sexy and powerful, says Monica Abbatemaggio.
