Volunteer Chaplain Workshop to Be Held at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass, Oregon

Feb. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Grants Pass, OR –Do you have a heart for helping people in a spiritual and compassionate way? The Spiritual Care Department at Three Rivers Community Hospital is offering a workshop for people interested in becoming volunteer chaplains.  

“We are here to listen to patients and families in their time of crisis, and offer spiritual support during illness and loss,” says Sandi Richard’, chaplain and program coordinator. “It can be a rewarding, powerful and life changing experience.”

The two-session Interfaith Spiritual Caregiver Training will be held on Thursday and Friday, March 17 and18,  2011. All phases of this public ministry will be covered, including these topics: Compassionate Listening; Spiritual Assessment; Understanding Ourselves; Spiritual Diversity; Spiritual Response; and Death, Dying and Grief.

Registration is required by March 7 as space is limited to 20 people. This workshop is provided at no cost to the volunteer.
