Open Auditions and Talent Competition For Ages 5-16 Raises Lupus Awareness

Feb. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Delray Beach - On Sunday, February 13th from 2-4pm there will be an open audition for the 1st Annual Butterfly Idolz Talent Showcase event for ages 5-16. Ten talented boys and girls will be selected by local celebrity judges to compete at the main event in March and be crowned the 2011 Butterfly Idol. In addition to identifying local talent, this event will help raise awareness about Lupus, a disease that affects over 1.5 million Americans. Funds raised from this event will benefit the Lupus Foundation of America’s Southeast Florida Chapter.

Local celebrity judges include Peter Bailey, NBC NiteCap host, Award-Winning Writer for the Miami Herald, and co-author of Trick Daddy's memoir Magic City: Trials Of A Native Son; Baby Blue of American R&B/Hip-Hop Group, Pretty Ricky; Shelby Rushin, on-air personality for 99 Jamz; and Miami native and Pop Soul singer and songwriter, Sa'mya.
