Hydrex invests over £2.5m in next generation Access Platforms to support UK Rail electrification

Feb. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- As part of its strategy to invest in leading plant assets, Hydrex has confirmed delivery of 20 new RR14 Access Platforms over the next 3 months. This will enable the company to continue supporting client needs in the growing area of electrification infrastructure investment as part of the government’s environmental policy of moving towards non-diesel rolling stock.

The platforms were purchased from UK dealer Promax, and are the latest generation of Access Platforms from manufacturer Platform Basket. Shaun Day, Business Director at Promax said “this latest generation of platforms are designed with specific Rail benefits, such as the ability to operate on 200mm CANT - with automatic leveling of the turret - and having a key interlock device to enable platform driving under live lines.
