Suga Shane on the rise!

Feb. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Recording artist “Suga Shane”, much like the elite boxer “Sugar Shane Mosley” whose name he adopted as a kid, is also a champion fighter.  Born in Louisiana and raised throughout Florida, the skilled MC had his fair share of challenges growing up in the South. Suga Shane is used to having to prove himself in all aspects of life and it’s no different when it comes to his music.  However, he now prefers words as his weapon of choice.
“I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my craft; music is my form of therapy and allows me to express myself by putting my thoughts and feelings on a track.
I used to have a very short temper, I mean very short! I feel the music helped me release my thoughts and frustrations out without being so quick to handle things physically. When I record a song I get into the same mindset I felt when I wrote the song, that way you can feel the passion in my tone and delivery and not just hear the words but really feel what I’m expressing and visualize the mental pictures I’m painting. The beat provides my canvas and my words provide my paint. Never know the picture that will be painted”  
Armed with knowledge, experience and a ferocious spirit, the seasoned vet with a hustler’s mentality is known for mixing truthfulness and confidence with a socially conscious mentality.  He can effortlessly flow from club-friendly party anthems and block party vibes to ghetto gospel laced with precautionary tales.  His music overall remains solid and balanced.  Since his early days of pushing his mixtape series Swag Like A Superstar (Volumes 1 and 2 and 3), Suga Shane has evolved and continues to experiment with different styles of music, however he has always been loyal to the quality-over-quantity mantra.  
“It’s been a year since I put out my last mixtape, but I’m currently finishing up Volume 3 which is going to be hosted by DJ Holiday & DJ Drama. It’s not that I didn’t have songs ready, I have more music now than ever before (100+ songs), and I go through a tough elimination process every time I put my mixtapes together. I just wanted to make sure everything from the creative side to the business side was on point because anything I attach my name to has got to be right”    
Suga Shane had already built a buzz in his hometown of 321 (“Countdown County a bunch of lil cities wit a big city hustle”), but being the aggressive go-getter that he is, decided to move to the hip-hop Mecca known as Atlanta to further his ambitions.
“I knew if I was gonna take my music career seriously I had to take a serious step, if u make no changes in your life there will be NO CHANGE, so I had to take the chance and go for it.  I feel it’s hard for an individual to fail if they stay passionate & persistent. I feel no matter how many times a person has failed in the past they can always begin again. You only get one shot at this life and I plan on having no regrets when GOD calls me home.”
While grinding it out in the streets and studio by day with his producer Mike da Rockman and in the clubs by night, it was a chance encounter with a then up and coming rapper named Waka Flocka that jumpstarted Suga Shane’s career in the “A.”
“I was at Mike Da Rockman studio and Waka walked in and heard me recording a track, he was like, where the hell he came from? Rockman just looked at him smiling and started nodding his head, me and Waka started writing to tracks and the rest … well they will see soon enough”
The organic friendship with Waka quickly turned into a business relationship when Suga Shane showcased his wordplay to Mizay Entertainment head Debra Antney, also known as “Auntie”, who quickly signed him to her management company.   And Antney knows talent being that she was the force behind the careers of Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman and Nicki Minaj.
Much like his music, Suga Shane’s personal achievements are equally as diverse.  As a seasoned athlete playing Division 1 college football, Suga Shane has always exemplified a stringent work ethic.  He is currently in the process of releasing Swag Like A Superstar Volume 3, hosted by DJ Holiday & DJ Drama with the lead single “Take A Picture” that has been well-received throughout the southeastern region and is steadily gaining momentum.  Whether he’s expressing his feelings about a relationship or getting you hype from the crib to the club, Suga Shane has a song for every possible range of emotion that a human being can feel.  Even from a production standpoint, the beats he carefully chooses vary from bass lines that wham the trunk to instrument-laden melodies that you can chill to.  
Suga Shane is arguably one of the hardest working names in underground Hip Hop with the passion, drive and flow to rise to mainstream status.  Definitely a man on a mission, if you can’t relate to anything else about this rising star, you have to respect his dedication and grind to make it. In October 2010 Shane became a father to a beautiful baby boy which now drives him more then ever before.
“Not trying to sound stereotypical, but I feel he gives me a whole new meaning to life and a drive like nothing I have ever experienced before to succeed and make a stable positive future for my son. I love being a dad and everything that comes along with it. It allows me to keep a constant focus on the goal and tasks at hand each and every day I wake up and look at him. Failure has never been an option and with the birth of my son came a whole new passion to make it and plenty new fuel to my fire.”
