GN400 slurry separation unit for TBM

Feb. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- GN solids control designed and manufactured slurry separation unit for TBM project. Until now we have existing proposal for GN250 & GN400 slurry separation unit.

You should pay more attention to the following points when design the slurry separation unit.

1 particle size
The mud particle size of TBM is much larger( the mud situation should be informed in advance to analyse which model solids control equipments should be used) than the project we are familiar, such as HDD(horizontal directional drilling), oil & gas drilling, etc, so when you design the system, you should use a scalper first before using the shale shaker.  But this way will lead to high equipments cost and large land required. It is not a economic way.

GN use our own designed shale shaker with special type shaker screen in this system, The shaker screen is not same as common oil drilling shaker screen, it is a kind of slit type shaker screen, material is stainless steel wire. It can process large solids such as rocks, the function is same as scalper. But if the solids in the mud is not so large, you can change a small mesh screen so that the treatment effect could be better, so it is much flexible than scalper.

2 Transportation
Usually the treating capacity of TBM slurry separation system is very large, from 250m3/h to 1000m3/h, even larger in big project. We should use more mud tanks, equipments to meet the large flow rate.
Sea freight is the economic way for transportation, all the equipments and tanks are container suited dimension, which can save a lot of cost for the clients.

GN400 slurry separation system is composed of the following items:

1 GNZS83-3 shale shaker 2sets , with 2.7m3 pyramid screen area and max 7.0G vibrating strength
2 GNZJ83-3 desander 1set, use 3 pcs 12” PU hydrocyclones with underflow shaker GNZS83-3
3 GNZJ83-3 desilter1 set, use 18pcs 5” PU hydrocyclones with underflow shaker GNZS83-3

4 75KW Centrifugal pump, 2 sets with mechanical seal
5 jet mud mixer unit in a separate skid
6 Mud agitator 2sets
7 settling mud tank
8 Circulation mud tank
