Lead Renovation, Repair & Painting (RRP) EPA Certification Training to be Held in Marshfield, WI

Feb. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Lead certification in accordance with the EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting rule will be offered Feb. 26 in Marshfield, Wis. This class will be instructed by Samantha Dickman, president of Testudo LLC, Wisconsin's leading Lead Safe Renovator training provider. Property managers, landlords, and remodeling contractors of all types—including plumbers, electricians, painters, window installers, and even wood floor refinishers—are required to carry this certification if disturbing leaded coatings (paint, stain, shellac, varnish, etc.) in any child-occupied building (homes, daycares, etc.) built before 1978.

This training course will be held in partnership with the Marshfield Area Apartment Association. The course will take place in the banquet hall of the Belvedere Supper Club at M329 Hwy 97, Marshfield, Wis., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; lunch will be provided. All students who hold the Dwelling Contractor Qualifier license can receive eight hours of continuing education credits for attending the course. The cost of the course is $210 for members of the Wisconsin Apartment Association and $250 for non-members.

During this eight-hour training, contractors and property managers will learn about all facets of the Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, including why it was enacted and how they can successfully comply with the rule. Samantha Dickman is the president of Testudo LLC and has thus far taught almost 1,000 of Wisconsin’s remodeling contractors about the RRP rule. Testudo LLC holds Lead Safe Renovator training sessions throughout Wisconsin.
