Local Dermatologist, Dr. Marcy Street to Appear on CBS “The Doctors” Featuring Blu-light Therapy

Dr. Street, a Mayo trained, MOHS skin cancer surgeon with over 18 years of experience, was selected by “The Doctors” for her expertise in this particular area of skin cancer prevention and AK treatment. The Blu-light treatment, which was taped at Doctor’s Approach Dermatology in East Lansing, features Dr. Street as she highlights the benefits of this effective light therapy. Blu-Light therapy is the process of exposing skin to a dose of blu light in order to diminish the potential for skin cancer and the presence of acne-causing bacteria and oil. Blu-Light, when applied with a Levulan solution, treats AK’s (precancerous lesions) that have the potential to become skin cancer. Blu-Light therapy has many advantages over other treatments because it is effective on all skin types, requires no surgery, and has little to no discomfort. For acne patients, they typically see results in 4-6 treatments.
