Show Times Announced for CVD's First-Ever Showdeeo in Ventura County

Feb. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.--Conejo Valley Days has announced show dates and times for the first-ever "Showdeeo" to be held in Ventura County: Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. The shows will take place in an arena adjacent to the 55th Annual Conejo Valley Days (Conejo Creek Park South, Janss Rd./23 Freeway) in Thousand Oaks.

   Included in the Showdeeo will be bull riding, trick roping and riding, bull poker and plenty of cowboys, cowgirls, costumed riders and clowns. Performers include Tomas Garcilazo a third generation charro who has performed worldwide including shows on Broadway and before presidents of both the United States and Mexico. The Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls, world renowned for their trick riding and trick roping, will perform acrobatic stunts and complicated roping routines. For good measure, extreme motorcycle jumping will be part of the show.

   Opening each two-hour Showdeeo will be the unveiling of a giant American flag, a vintage western stagecoach, dozens of cowboys, cowgirls and charros, local mounted police and a military color guard.

   Members of Equestrian Trails, Inc. Corral 37 Drill Team from the Conejo Valley will take part in competitive barrel racing during all three shows.

   One half hour before each performance will be a "Children's Coin Dig" for buried "treasure." Kids ages three through 10 with tickets for the Showdeeo are eligible to participate.

   The Showdeeo is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). "A Showdeeo has all the excitement and the extreme entertainment of a rodeo," says Mary-Catherine McBride, CVD co-chair.

   Tickets for the Showdeeo are $20 for adults and $15 for children (ages four through 16). The Showdeeo is free for children ages three and under but they must share a single seat with an adult. Tickets can be purchased soon on the Conejo Valley Days website (www.conejovalleydays.org), during CVD or at the event. Special discounts are available when purchasing both CVD and Showdeeo tickets.
