Feb. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Alta Vista Companies has formed a Joint Venture with a Washington Based Biodiesel Corporation for the creation of a synthetic diesel fuel production facility capable of producing over 10 million gallons of high-grade clean diesel fuel annually. This plant will be located at the site of an existing sawmill in Northern California. This location is strategically located near a large supply of forestry waste feedstock that will be utilized in the production of the synthetic diesel.

This plant will utilize a proprietary state-of-the-art wood fired gasification system using technology first developed during World War II through the Fischer-Tropsch process. Since its initial development, many refinements in the process and improvements in related technologies have created an economically viable production process. All technologies are environmentally friendly, as is the final synthetic diesel that will be produced.

According to Mr. Steven Muehler, Managing Partner at Alta Vista Companies,
“The market for synthetic diesel fuel is a rapidly growing and expanding one. Concerns regarding the environmental damage caused by traditional fossil fuels coupled with concerns over the dependence on foreign oil supplies have made this type of fuel the ‘fuel of the future’. As the world's rate of fuel consumption continues to grow there will be a strong need for renewable, clean fuels.”

Mr. Steven Muehler went on to say that the Joint Venture Partnership has developed several customer segments for its products. Among them are consumer/retail outlets, commercial and governmental fleets, agricultural businesses and traditional petroleum companies. Each of these segments has the potential to require more than our initial production capacity of 12,000 gallons per day. The United States military is an additional distribution channel that is currently being negotiated.

The plant is scheduled to begin production late 2011 or early spring 2012.
