ION Computer Systems® SR-71 SpeedServer™ breaks 1 Million IOPS using less than 500 Watts of Power

March 1, 2011 - PRLog -- ION Computer Systems today, in conjunction with Intel  and LSI , demonstrated the I/O capabilities of the upgraded ION SR-71 SpeedServer to a group of Intel Technology Provider Platinum Members at Intel’s Solutions Summit conference in Las Vegas. The award winning SR-71 SpeedServer™ incorporates second-generation LSI MegaRAID® 6Gb/s SAS RAID controller cards, (SAS 9265-8i) enabled with LSI MegaRAID FastPath™ SSD optimization software. The MegaRAID cards where connected to 24 Intel SSD (Solid State Drives) mounted in the SR-71 SSD optimized servers hot swap drive bays.
Both Intel and LSI ran IOmeter software in varying read and write configurations during the show, demonstrating the performance characteristics in many different write and read modes.
