Award-winning interior designer Robert Esterley brings his inimitable touch to The Gathering Place

March 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Robin Steen, Director of Individual Giving at TrinityCare Hospice, knew that Robert Esterley’s esteemed reputation as a gifted designer was widely respected throughout Southern California, but also about his charitable work and his holistic approach to design.  Steen personally reached out to Esterley, inviting him to contribute his talent for design to “Dining For a Cause,” an event for The Gathering Place, one of TrinityCare Hospice Foundation’s programs.  From there, Esterley designed the event, creating exquisite tabletop settings and elegant decorations that stunned the guests. Esterley’s wide network of connections within the design industry allowed him to borrow unusual pieces, including the antique silver centerpiece from Geary’s in Beverly Hills.
“To be able to use my skills and abilities as a designer in order to contribute to the community is truly a dream come true,” explains Esterley. “I am honored to work with TrinityCare Hospice to help bring light to their amazing program, The Gathering Place.”
The Gathering Place is a non-profit program that offers supportive services to those in bereavement.  Since its establishment in 2000, The Gathering Place has helped over 10,000 individuals in their transition through loss and grievance.  
“Dining For a Cause” was hosted by John and Carol Shafer in Manhattan Beach. The gracious couple opened the doors to their private residence in Manhattan Beach for an intimate gathering to celebrate the Gathering Place and its honorable mission.  Dinner was provided by renowned Chef Christine Brown of Restaurant Christine in Torrance, who created a delectable four-course menu for the guests.
Darren Elms, editor of SouthBay Magazine, was so impressed with Esterley’s beautiful designs for “Dining For a Cause” he subsequently commissioned Esterley to create a feature showcasing New Year’s Eve tabletop designs for their Holiday edition issue.
