Living Poetry’s March 2011 Poet Local is Writer Debra Kaufman

March 2, 2011 - PRLog -- The Poet Local series explores poets’ lives and writing styles. Kaufman is a poet and a playwright who has published a handful of poetry collections, Family of Strangers (Nightshade) and Still Life Burning (South Carolina Poetry Society), to name a few. Visitors will learn about Kaufman’s approach to publishing her work, which has appeared in publications such as the Virginia Quarterly Review, Room of One’s Own and Pembroke. Kaufman’s latest book, The Next Moment (Jacar Press) was released in October 2010. “Debra’s led writing workshops, written plays and received grants. She has such a variety of strong writing experience; it will make for an interesting and educational afternoon,” said Angelika Teuber, Living Poetry’s Organizer.

The Poet Local is free, open to the public, and caters to those interested in learning about publishing poetry and meeting local writers. RSVP instructions are available at www.livingpoetry.net. The event takes place at 3PM on Sunday, March 13th at the Media Room of Ashley Park Apartment Homes of Brier Creek, 10300 Pine Lakes Court in Raleigh.
