Hydrex launch Safely Home initiative to improve safety awareness across its employees

March 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Taking its role as the UK’s largest supplier of rail solutions seriously, Hydrex strives to lead the way in safety, health and environmental practices. As part of its strategy to be the leading safety advocate in the plant hire market, Hydrex has launched Safely Home – an initiative to remind their workforce, customers and those they work closely with that systems, policies and procedures are in place to ensure everyone gets Safely Home every night.

Safety has always been an important part of the Hydrex culture, ensuring mobile plant operators get everything they need to be compliant and safe in their work. All operators go through extensive training, which by far exceed any standards set by its peer group and ensures every operator obtains Sentinel certification. Additional bespoke modules on safety critical equipment such as quick hitch operation, Rated Capacity Indicators (RCIs) and communication equipment are also provided. The business also innovates in the field of safety following the introduction of mobile telecoms in machine cabs to improve on-site clarity of instruction, safety and efficiency.

Delivering smarter and safer ways of working is at the fore-front of Hydrex’s mind, having led the introduction of mobile telecoms in machine cabs to improve on-site safety, improve exclusion zone enforcement and deliver more efficient control of machines and operators.

Hydrex’s commitment to improving standards are demonstrated by its active participation in the ISLG (Infrastructure Safety Liaison Group) and sub-groups RIAG, and RIEF, in addition to the Operations Focus Group (OFG) and Association of Railway Training Providers (ARTP) as well as membership of Construction Plant Association and the Rail Plant Association.
