March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- It owes its name to Milano family who have resided there since the outset. Palazzo Milano portrays many distinctive features, characteristic of many other buildings of the 17th century period. It is centred around a large courtyard from which extends the buildings three magnificent wings and on the fourth side, opposite to the main entrance, a walled balcony (balconata) that separates the court from the garden.
The grand courtyard is cobbled with the original paving which is formed from volcanic rock, as is the well which stands in the corner opposite to main entrance. A beautiful wisteria tree stands tall over the well and although now only a decorative feature, the well was built and used by the Milano family before the town's centralised water system.
The right wing displays the impressive main staircase which runs the full height of the building. The stairs will lead you up onto the first floor, this is the property's main event space where weddings and party are celebrated. This is a fabulous open space composing of seven interlocking rooms with marbled floors, furnished with original period furniture and palls made in old silk manufactured in San Leucio.
In perfect compliment to the residence, Palazzo Milano stands amongst established grounds. The garden, situated through the courtyard, comprises many typical Italian trees, plants and flowers. Here in the Mediterranean climate, trees of wisteria and cherry blossom flourish and is particularly characterised with the popular lemon tree. The garden maintains its continuity between the building via a long arched lemons' gallery leading from the courtyard gate.
