Is It Free Speech or Common Sense?

Matter Of Opinion (MOO), an Atlanta-based opinion survey website, wants to know readers’ thoughts about free speech or lack of professionalism after Chrysler's social marketing agency made an unflattering post on the corporate Twitter account.

March 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Socialmediarisk.com reports an employee of Chrysler's social media agency New Media Strategies mistakenly made an unflattering, profane post (about Detroit area drivers) on a Chrysler corporate Twitter account rather than their own personal account. The tweet was quickly deleted, but not before it had been blogged and retweeted by other sources, and numerous media inquiries were made to Chrysler's offices. As a result, the agency was fired by the carmaker.

Matter Of Opinion (MOO), an Atlanta based website and bipartisan concept, posted a new survey on March 18, 2011. MOO is asking surveyors to post their opinions about whether the agency has freedom of speech or if they lack caution. Was Chrysler’s action reasonable? The purpose of the survey is to gain insight into public opinion and to stimulate productive debate and discussion about if this is a matter of freedom of speech or professionalism. Results will be sent directly Socialmediarisk.com and New Media Strategies.
