Richmond Brothers Sponsors Lingap Children’s Foundation "Hope for Orphans" Benefit

March 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Richmond Brothers Financial Management Specialists, Inc. is once again a sponsor of the Lingap Children’s Foundation Hope for Orphans Benefit taking place Saturday, April 30, at the Cascades Manor House in Jackson, Michigan.

The benefit has taken place since 2003 and is the primary fund-raiser for the Lingap Children’s Foundation (LCF). The Foundation is a U.S.-based, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that provides funding for projects to help children in the Philippines. LCF has helped contribute to several positive changes in the Philippines and runs The Lingap Center, which provides hope for children who have suffered from child abuse, abandonment, neglect and exploitation.

“The center is a safe haven for children who would otherwise be in life-threatening situations. We have dedicated staff to ensure that the children eat three meals a day, go to school so they can build a solid future and give back to the community. For the first time in many of their lives, the children have access to health care and counseling services,” noted John Drake, Founder of the LCF. "We are very proud of our long-term relationship with Richmond Brothers. Through their support, they are touching the lives of countless children in need,” he said.

The center, which has been called “the best facility of its kind in the Philippines,” is located on the island of Cebu and houses around 100 children between the ages of six and 18.

“We are pleased to help support the Lingap Children’s Foundation by not only sponsoring the Hope for Orphans benefit, but also by managing the foundation’s portfolio in order to further assist them in meeting their objectives,” said David Richmond, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Richmond Brothers and Board Member of LCF. “Having visited the center to witness the impact first-hand, it is amazing to know just how much of a difference we can make for these children. We are making a permanent ripple in the lives of good kids who simply need to be safe, loved, and cared for. With the help of many we are providing that opportunity.”
