Long and far Burner SuperFast TP driver

The Tour Preferred model has a slightly more open and shallower face than the standard SuperFast, and it also features a heavier Tour Velvet grip

March 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Most of the features that make the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast a virtual hot rod among drivers (Dual Crown Technology, aerodynamic clubhead design and an ultra-thin clubface) are also present in the SuperFast TP. The Tour Preferred model has a slightly more open and shallower face than the standard SuperFast, and it also features a heavier Tour Velvet grip. Still, the SuperFast TP is one of the fleetest drivers in TaylorMade’s arsenal, thanks to a longer than normal shaft (46 inches) and an aggressively shaped clubhead design. The curved crown around the front and heel of the club helps reduce drag, increasing clubhead speed by up to 2 mph over the ’09 Burner TP.
Quite simply, a lighter club leads to greater clubhead speed through the hitting zone, which can generate higher ball speeds and longer distances off the tee. The weight isn't the only factor playing into swinging this club faster. By using simple aerodynamics, TaylorMade was able to increase the rate in which the head cuts through the air (via the reduction in drag). While doing this, they somehow found a way to increase the size of the clubface by 14% over last year's Burner. The clubface now spans 4,500 square millimeters. The extreme MOI of this driver means that you'll get a great deal of forgiveness across that large face.
I can not say enough about how FAR this club hits the ball. I am a pretty good golfer myself (just under a 2 HCP), but I've never been really "deep" off the tee, even though I swing pretty fast (114-118mph w/ driver). I have a very, very good friend (D2 college player, +3 HCP) who used to be right around 15-20 yards deeper than me off the tee, and now it's a total role reversal. I am now a consistent 15-20 yards deeper than him (and he's pissed!). What's crazy is the added distance is ALL CARRY. I am from the Seattle area, and anyone that golfs here knows that the ball doesn't go anywhere...and what's even worse is you get no roll because the fairways are so soft (lots of "mudballs"). I can't wait to hit this thing somewhere when I can get some roll!
Also critical to the Burner SuperFast TP driver’s performance are its new Matrix shaft configurations, which promote a piercing, Tour-like ball flight and a stable feel. The Matrix HD6 (65 grams) shaft is in the S and X flexes, while the Matrix XCON 5 (54 grams) is the standard R-flex shaft. At 46.0″ in length, Burner SuperFast automatically promotes a wide swing arc to promote increased clubhead speed.
