March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- TaylorMade Golf has introduced the new Burner Plus iron, developed for the 10+ handicap bomber who loves his Burner driver and wants an iron that shares the same personality and the same fast-and-long qualities.
"Our new Burner Plus irons possess one of the highest MOI measurements of any TaylorMade iron, making them super-forgiving and easy to hit," said Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade manager of iron creation. "These are so easy to launch that it's a blast to make a big swing and let them fly. We had a lot of fun designing them and are looking forward to the reception they receive among golfers who like to go long."
The large clubhead of the TaylorMade Burner Plus iron is designed to produce high-launching shots that fly long. The thick top edge, wide sole and substantial offset are all created with forgiveness in mind. They are available in a combination set that includes two TaylorMade Burner Rescue club.
This is an area of the iron market where TaylorMade excel. Shots from the middle fly long and mis-hits rarely stray too far from the target. The option of including Rescue clubs in the set is a great touch.
TaylorMade's Inverted Cone Technology consists of an inverted cone that is milled directly into the back of the clubface resulting in a drastic variation in face thickness. The end result of Inverted Cone Technology is consistent distance on mishits. The Inverted Cone Technology was originally designed for TaylorMade drivers, but has since moved into the TaylorMade irons.
The TaylorMade Burner Plus irons are designed with a multi functional sole. The sole of the club head is beveled at the back. Because the club head is beveled in the back, playing out of different lies and having consistent results is possible. The beveled sole creates a low, deep center of gravity making the launch easy! The heel and toe of the TaylorMade Burner Plus clubs are also recessed. This reduces the drag on the club head.
For the better players, these irons do offer a decent amount of workability when trying to manipulate the flight of shots. A capable golfer who knows what they're doing should certainly be able to achieve some good results.
Overall the Burner Plus irons could really benefit any level of golfer who would particularly like more distance in their iron play. It will be very difficult for most players to find and iron that they can carry further than the Burner Plus.
