Health writer, Suzi Lewis-Barned’s second children’s book published

April 1, 2011 - PRLog -- This second book of stories is based on translations of Hadithi za Abunuwasi na Hadithi Nyingine from Swahili into English by John Lewis-Barned – Suzi’s father. The original stories in Swahili were first published in 1935 and are loved by young and old readers right along the East African coast which has had centuries’ old contacts with Arab traders and Islamic scholars; Hadithi za Abunuwasi have become an integral part of Swahili literature.

Now available in Tanzania and other East African countries, it is expected that as a new generation of children learn to read these stories in English they will fall in love with the characters and their fabulous adventures all over again.

Tales of Abunuwas and other Stories will be distributed in the UK by the African Books Collective in Oxford (www.africanbookscollective.com).
