Easter Fun at Newton Abbot Racecourse

April 18, 2011 - PRLog -- With a four-day weekend ahead, Newton Abbot Racecourse are gearing up for an Easter egg-stravaganza with free Easter Eggs, colouring competitions and children’s entertainment on Saturday 23 April.

As part of the Easter celebrations, the racecourse will be giving away a free Easter egg to the first 100 children through the gates on Easter Saturday. The first 50 children will receive a free Newton Abbot Racecourse baseball cap too.

Every child can also take part in the free colouring competition for the chance to win a giant chocolate Easter egg. Both the winner and the runner-up of the colouring competition will also receive a family ticket to watch and meet the cast of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat on the opening night at the Princess Theatre, Torquay.

Children are invited to collect their colouring sheet and crayons from the Paddock Enclosure entrance before the first race of the day at 2pm. After judging all of the entries, an announcement will be made after the 4th race of the afternoon for the finalists to make their way to the parade ring, where the eventual winner and runner-up will be chosen and presented with their prizes.

If the colouring competition isn’t enough to keep the little ones entertained, there’ll be a bouncy castle and slides in the Family Enclosure. Situated in the centre of the course, the Family Enclosure offers a safe environment for children to play together, away from the crowds and provides the adults with a great view of the racing action. Just a short walk across the course to the Paddock and Course Enclosures, racegoers watching from the Family Enclosure can enjoy all the betting and catering facilities of the Course Enclosure.

Racegoers are reminded that the car entrance to the course on racedays is now via the old Bowls Centre entrance on Greenhill Way. The general public can no longer gain car access to the course via the car entrance on Newton Road.

Tickets are still available priced at £18 for Paddock Enclosure and £12 for Course Enclosure. All children aged 16 and under go free when accompanied by an adult.
