April 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Nashville, TN – “Live From Music City,” a weekly radio show that airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 pm CST on blog talk radio (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/live-from-music-city), welcomes Roger Earl and Bryan Basset of “Foghat” (http://www.foghat.net) to discuss their music careers, following entertainment/music industry marketing consultant Michael Brandvold (http://www.michaelbrandvold.com) in a four-week series, “How To Market Like A Rock Star!”

Signed by Albert Grossman to Bearsville Records in 1991, Foghat has been rewarded with seven Gold records, one Platinum record, “Fool For The City” and one Double-Platinum record “Foghat Live.” The “Fool For The City” album (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF6tXp_FgCo) contained Foghat’s trademark Top 40 hit song “Slow Ride” and cemented their place as one of the world’s top rock acts. They continued to hit the charts in the 1970’s with singles such as “Fool For The City,” “Drivin’ wheel,” “I Just Wanna Make Love To You,” “I’ll Be Standing By,” “Stone Blue,” “Third Time Lucky,” and “Somebody’s Been Sleeping In My Bed,” many of which are still classic rock radio staples.

Their latest project, a blues CD called “Last Train Home” (released June 2010) is the culmination of a dream shared by Roger Earl and Lonesome Dave, bringing Foghat full circle with an offering that mixes some Foghat Blues stamped originals with many blues gems.  The 2010 version of Foghat comprised of Roger Earl, Bryan Bassett, Craig MacGregor and Charlie Huhn has been together for 10 years since the passing of Lonesome Dave. They continue to tour relentlessly because they just love to play and after every show they go out to meet their fans. They still epitomize that classic blues-rock slide guitar sound that defines Foghat.

Michael Brandvold is an entertainment marketing veteran with extensive experience in online, affiliate and social marketing, e-commerce, customer acquisition and retention efforts.  Michael has managed the online efforts for Motley Crue, Rod Stewart, Madonna, Ozzy Osbourne, Gene Simmons and Britney Spears, to name a few.

During his four-week series, “How To Market Like A Rock Star!” Brandvold will be covering topics such as Facebook, Twitter, eCommerce, eMail, Content Strategies (including blogging) and “Your Own Official Website – why you need one and what you need.”

“Live From Music City” reaches and appeals to singers/musicians who have achieved at least mid-level entry points in their careers. We try to help the artists define the steps they need to take to advance their careers.

We'll discuss a variety of topics through commentary and with guests to showcase their roles within the performing and recording industry. We'll also focus on the music business from the perspective of service to the artist, as well as how the artist can achieve the next levels of success.

While we concentrate on the roles of the 'insiders,' we will also include recording artists themselves to better understand and explore the relationship between the two."
