Follow on Google News | Dinner Dance to Benefit Children with AutismHeartShare Human Services is hosting its annual dinner dance to benefit its preschool and school age programs for children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
By: Tricia Fleming HeartShare’s four First Step Early Childhood Centers offer warm and supportive learning environments to children 3 to 5-years-old. Their special education programs develop each child’s skills through education and therapy with the goal of having each child reach his or her fullest potential. The HeartShare School educates children ages 5 to 21 with autism and mental retardation in a classroom setting. Children learn science, language arts, math, world history, geography, visual arts, and music through a variety of teaching methods. Individual tickets for the Dinner Dance are $85. Sponsorship packages and advertisements in the souvenir journal are also available. Raffle donations are also welcome. Its wide array of services assist individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities through numerous programs including education services, adult day programs, residential services, case management, recreation programs, family support services, and health services. It also provides counseling, after-school programs and assistance with foster care and adoption to children and families, supports people affected by HIV/AIDS, and administers low-income energy assistance programs.
