Institute for Credentialing Excellence cites credentials as great 'asset' in recruiting & hiring

April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- MIAMI - Citing the words of Melissa Murer Corrigan, President of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), ACEDS Executive Director Gregory Calpakis told the new CEDS-certified members of the fast-growing association of the value their CEDS credential brings to them and their organizations.

Corrigan, who heads ICE, the world's leading credentialing organization stated, "Attaining professional credentials provides an immediately recognizable indication that a candidate has demonstrated the skills necessary to meet a standard of quality set within the industry. The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists developed the CEDS certification in 2010 to serve the expanding e-discovery community.  It is the first legally defensible, psychometrically-sound credential in e-discovery.  Prior to CEDS, there were no credentials for the thousands of professionals who deal with e-discovery.

The certification exam is the culmination of an eight-month process that involved 40 experts, independent testing experts and a 272-item global survey. Lawyers, records managers, litigation support professionals, and IT specialists throughout the United States, plus Canada, Taiwan and the United Kingdom have earned the CEDS credential.  For more information, ACEDS has created a listing of 35 FAQs about CEDS certification.
