Dreams Come True at the Races

April 28, 2011 - PRLog -- The combination of great weather, a bank holiday weekend and Easter celebrations saw bumper crowds enjoy the racing at Newton Abbot on Saturday and two young children go home as very happy winners.

Chloe Hambly aged 9 from Kingsteignton and Josiah Caunter, also aged 9, from Yealmpton were crowned winners of the free colouring competition to win a giant Easter egg and a family ticket to watch and meet the cast of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at Torquay’s Princess Theatre on the opening night.

Helen Hambly, mum of Chloe Hambly said: “Chloe winning the colouring competition was the icing on the cake of a fabulous day at the races. We went with the whole family to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and treated ourselves to Paddock Enclosure tickets to mark the special occasion.”

“Chloe is a huge fan of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, having already seen the show three times. To meet the cast is a dream come true for her – she hasn’t stopped talking about it since she won. We only wish it was happening sooner so that she would actually get some sleep!”

Alongside, Holly and Josiah, Holly Langham aged 3 from Derbyshire was also highly commended for her entry.

As part of the Easter celebrations at Newton Abbot, free chocolate eggs were given to the first 100 children through the gates, alongside a free Newton Abbot Racecourse baseball cap to the first 50. Children were also admitted free of charge to the racing as part of the course’s ongoing ticket promotion where children aged 16 or under can enjoy the racing for free when accompanied by an adult.
