Follow on Google News | Wine and Design Celebrates New Franchise in Jamestown with Two Open House EventsEvent to give attendees first look at painting party concept with live demonstrations by studio artists
By: Wine and Design Wine and Design provides the canvas, cover-up, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew and attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing. First- “The event on Friday is tailored more to our adults who will be taking advantage of most of our class offerings,” says Ragsdale. “Wine and Design has had much success with Date Night paintings (where couples paint each other for a surprise reveal at the end of class) and we’re looking to carry over that concept to our studio in Jamestown. We’re also hoping to book a lot of private parties, especially Bunco, bridal showers, corporate get togethers, and birthdays.” Friday’s event will feature Wine and Design artist, Chris Mayhew, who will be conducting a hands-on painting session. Southern Roots will be catering the event, which will also feature door prizes. Ragsdale said that Saturday’s event will be more “family friendly” and hopes to attract a younger crowd. A kid-friendly painting, led by artist Mary Powell DeLille, will be demonstrated and catering from Perky’s (offering hot dogs and peanut butter and jellies) will be provided. Wine and Design began a year ago in Raleigh. Its success has led to a second location in Wlimington, along with a second franchise opening soon in Cary. Ragsdale says that she thought the idea of a wine and painting party business was a fun idea. After her second child was born, it was her husband who brought the franchise opportunity to her attention. “The concept of being able to sit down and create your own painting in just two hours, while having a glass of wine alongside friends, was a unique idea that was fun,” says Ragsdale. “I loved the fact that this business allowed for a fun night out without costing a fortune.” Ragsdale said that Jamestown is the ideal spot for a Wine and Design location since the city sits right in the middle of the Triad (the area within and surrounding the three major cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point). She says Jamestown has a great downtown that “has all of the conveniences of a big city with the charm of a small, southern town”. Wine and Design will be open Wednesday thru Saturday from 2:00PM to 9:00PM and will be open on other days to accommodate private parties. The studio is now accepting reservations for May and June sessions.
