Critically Acclaimed Author Slated for DC Inaugural Literary Event

May 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Publisher’s Weekly, The International News Magazine of Book Publishing and Bookselling, has given DC Author Trice Hickman  a starred review for her debut novel, Unexpected Interruptions.

Washington, DC’s reading community helped bring Ms. Hickman to literary fame. She self-published this title three years ago under her own small press Platinum Books. Since then she has won the 2008 and 2010 African American Literary Award for Romance and became a premier book selection for Black Expressions, a national book club company with a membership of over 450,000 readers. In 2010 she signed a three book contract with Kensington Publishing Corp, the last remaining independent U.S. publisher. Unexpected Interruptions released nationwide April 1, 2011.

In June Ms. Hickman will speak at The DMV Literary Expo June 18-19, 2011 at the Aloft Washington National Harbor in Washington, DC.  The Expo will service over 50,000 book readers, 1,200 book clubs and 200 area libraries.

Hickman has also keynoted the Black History Month Reception for The Patterson Branch Library in Lubbock, Texas, the Women’s History Month Dress for Success Literary Event in Winston Salem, NC, and she will appear this month at both Book Expo America and the Book Bloggers Convention in New York, New York.
