June 14, 2011 - PRLog -- (Tuckahoe, NY) – Richard A. “Dick” Grasso, former Chairman and Chief Executive of the New York Stock Exchange, will speak at a Business Circle dinner organized by the Westchester Italian Cultural Center (WICC) on Monday, June 20th at 6:30 pm. Grasso, who was Chairman and Chief Executive of the NYSE from 1995 – 2003, will share his thoughts on America’s next chapter in his talk: “Renewed Economic Growth or Chapter 11?”

“With the state of our economy on everybody’s mind, we look forward to getting Dick Grasso’s perspectives,” said Domenick Ciaccia, Vice Chairman & Treasurer of the Cultural Center’s Board of Directors. “It is a great honor for the Westchester Italian Business Circle to welcome Dick Grasso, who presided over the New York Stock Exchange during its most successful period.”

Grasso has more than 40 years of business development, marketing, and financial experience to his credit. Starting as a clerk on the New York Stock Exchange floor, he rose to become its chairman in 1995. Known for his attention to detail and drive to win, Grasso presided over the most successful period in the Exchange’s history. He turned the NYSE into the world’s most respected exchange—boosting its market share to new heights and setting records for new listings. After the attacks of September 11, 2001, Grasso’s leadership was instrumental in the successful reopening of the U.S. equities markets. He supports many philanthropic organizations, including The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation, The NY State Trooper Foundation, and Nassau County Police Crimestoppers.

The Westchester Italian Business Circle is a membership group within the Cultural Center. It is organized around common themes and camaraderie. Guest speakers are invited to present on a broad range of topics that are relevant to the business community. Business Circle membership provides much-needed support for the Westchester Italian Cultural Center’s programs for adults and children, and special programming for senior adults.
