"Eager Readers, Brighter Writers" Literacy Program Spells Success

June 20, 2011 - PRLog -- “Eager Readers, Brighter Writers”, a children’s literacy program created by professional writer and children’s book author Sabrina K. Carpenter, is introducing reading and writing workshops to the Treasure Coast. The program is currently in the process of becoming a non-profit organization, which would enable “Eager Readers, Brighter Writers” to reach more children nationwide.

Created in 2010, this literacy program is geared toward helping children improve their reading and writing skills. As changes in school budgets negatively affect many important educational programs, the need for “Eager Readers, Brighter Writers” grows.

“Where I see a problem, I'm determined to find a solution. I created this literacy program to bridge the gap.” Carpenter said.

“Eager Readers, Brighter Writers” offers reading groups and writing workshops for children of all ages. Within these workshops, the children will enhance their literacy skills through a variety of fun and educational activities. Carpenter offers six unique workshops from Toddle Tales, where young children and their parents can bond over their favorite books, to Brighter Writers, a workshop for older teens interested in a writing career. Building more than just these fundamentals, the “Eager Readers, Brighter Writers” literacy program is providing a medium in which the children may learn to better express themselves and enhance their quest for knowledge.

Carpenter’s extensive involvement with non-profit organizations over the last 12 years has recently led to a partnership with the Homeless Family Center, providing motivational speaking and children’s literacy programs to the residents.

“Eager Readers, Brighter Writers” is collaborating with a number of camps, daycares and other youth-oriented organizations across the Treasure Coast this summer.
