Follow on Google News | ![]() Crump Group, Inc. Competes in World T.E.A.M. Sports (WTS), Adventure TEAM Challenge EventCrump Group announces its participation in World T.E.A.M. Sports Adventure Challenge June 25-27th in Colorado, fielding a competitive team in support of the WTS mission of promoting the abilities of all people.
By: Crump Group Inc., Sherri Lindenberg “I appreciate the vision of this event – raising awareness for disabled athletes and showing that even if you’ve been told your whole life you can’t do something, really you can,” said Crump Life Insurance Services sales manager and Adventure TEAM Challenge participant Lisa Kruckeberg, Seattle, WA. Crump is one of 13 corporate teams competing in the three-day race. According to World T.E.A.M., over the course of the event, athletes will mountain bike, white-water raft, run, zip line and climb and rappel through Colorado's rugged terrain. Crump team member Stephen Carney, Ascensus, client services, Dresher, PA commented on the intense race his team is about to experience. “I am looking forward to the unforeseen challenges team Crump will face and utilizing the individual strengths of each member to work together as a team,” he said. Teams consist of five members; two individuals must be disabled and one of the disabled athletes must be a paraplegic or use a wheelchair. Representing Crump, along with Lisa and Stephen, are Katy Peterson, Property & Casualty Insurance Services, account support, Portland, OR and Cliff Robbins, corporate IT, Brainerd, MN. Crump’s fifth member, Adventure TEAM Challenge veteran Bob Vogel from California, is a T10 paraplegic and has no feeling from the belly button down. He participated in this event two years ago and is well versed in adventure sports. Bob is a journalist, an avid hand cyclist, a certified rescue diver, an adaptive ski instructor, and a licensed hang glider pilot. About World T.E.A.M. Sports Since1993, World T.E.A.M. Sports has organized athletic events for disabled citizens with three objectives: the disabled athletes build self confidence and physical fitness; they provide an inspirational example to other disabled citizens to become physically active; and the disabled athletes are a model to all citizens of how courage and determination can overcome any obstacle. In the past, these events have included mountain climbing, long distance bicycle rides, adventure racing and kayaking. World T.E.A.M. Sports is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.
