By: NSPR Local authority is Certero’s first customer in Scotland since establishing a local presence this year 28 June 2011, London, UK – Certero has announced that Renfrewshire Council has selected PowerStudio 3.0® – Certero’s PC Power Management solution - to help the council achieve its PC-related cost and energy savings targets. The Council selected PowerStudio following a formal tender process, and it represents Certero’s first Scottish Council win since the company established a presence in Scotland in March this year. With carbon and energy cost reduction targets to meet, Renfrewshire Council chose to assess the power management solutions available. After evaluating solutions on the market, it selected PowerStudio for its carbon and cost saving potential, competitive pricing, rich functionality, and the presence of local market technical support available from Certero. The council has purchased 8,000 PowerStudio licences, which will be divided between corporate licences, and education licences. Commenting on Renfrewshire Council’s selection of PowerStudio 3.0®, John Lunt, Managing Director of Certero, said: “It is testimony to the capabilities of PowerStudio and Certero’s local market support that one of Scotland’s leading authorities has selected it to enable the council to realise its cost and energy saving goals. That this win comes so soon after Certero established a presence in Scotland, also demonstrates that Certero understands the needs of Scottish public and private sector businesses, and is well placed to work with them to achieve their energy and cost saving targets.” With a government target of a 50% reduction in carbon and energy cost by 2025, other councils and local authorities across the UK that have already saved money and lowered their energy consumption by using PowerStudio, include Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Darlington Borough Council and North Lincolnshire Council. The value of PC power management software is illustrated in a recent report by Pike Research. It stated that using “PC power management software alone, could save almost 47 metric tons of C02 emissions by 2015, about the same as taking nearly eight million cars off the road.” The company forecasts that the PC and server power management software market will grow “...from £102m in 2010 to £476m annually by 2015, with the largest market sector for PC power management segment solutions over the next five years will be public sector.” To help private and public sector organisations to achieve their targets, Certero offers PowerStudio® PowerStudio® PowerStudio® -ends – For more Information: Gino Mainolfi NSPR Ltd Tel : 01276 487006 Email : gino@nspr.co.uk About Certero Limited Certero is a specialist software vendor of PC Power Management and Software Asset Management solutions.
