The error with code 36 is typically caused by erroneous programs that cannot gain proper access to the network. It can also occur due to problems with the registry settings in your computer.  The problem ultimately comes down to Windows not being able to process a file or setting properly.  You need to perform a series of steps to be able to find the source of the error and fix it – which can be done using the steps below:

Step 1 – Re-Install Any Programs Causing The Problem

The first thing that you need to do to repair the error is re-install any programs that cause the error message to show.  Re-installing the application will replace faulty program files and will prevent the error message from appearing on your screen.  The next thing you must do is uninstall the application by clicking Start > Run, type “appwiz.cpl” in the open box, and click OK.  Afterwards, you should locate the application from the list that pops up and then click the “Remove” or “Uninstall” button.  Wait for uninstall to complete and then restart your PC.  Insert the CD/DVD installer onto your CD/DVD drive and run the installation command.  Follow the install wizard to complete the installation.
