Reviewers Bid A Sad Farewell To Ram 1500 After A Year of Road Tests

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Two magazines recently bid wistful farewells to their Ram 1500 trucks after a year of testing. Each magazine exemplifies how the Ram Truck appeals to even the top reviewers around the country.

Autoweek said “a tear or two might have been shed” as the truck’s tailgate faded from view.

“Our year with Ram can be distilled to this: We loved it,” Autoweek said.

Similarly, Consumer Guide said it was “sad to see this useful, versatile, and even comfortable test car go” after its ex-tended use.

According to one Consumer Guide editor, “I like the new F-150 a lot, but I’m calling (Ram 1500) the winner in this generation’s pickup war. . .This could well be the best half-ton pickup ever built.”

Autoweek editors heaped “plenty of praise” on the HEMI® V-8: “Big power is ready at a mere stab of your right foot, accompanied by the appropriately macho exhaust tone. Yet this mill becomes a gas sipper, relatively speaking, at highway speeds when the cylinder-deactivation system coverts the V8 to a (four cylinder).”

Attractive 20-inch wheels are available. Sills are pulled down to cover frame rails for a premium appearance. Badges are three-dimensional, rather than decals, and are designed to stand out.
