Karl Strauss Keeps the Momentum Going with 8 More Medals!

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Straight off the heels of a big win at the LA International Beer Competition, Karl Strauss Brewing Company takes home eight more medals from the California State and San Diego Beer Competitions.  “This has already been an exciting awards season for us, and these additional wins give us a lot of energy as we gear up for the busy summer season,” says Paul Segura, Karl Strauss Brewmaster.  

Karl Strauss was awarded a gold medal for their unstoppable Red Trolley Ale at the San Diego International Beer Festival.  After a breakout year in 2010—taking double gold at the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup—Red Trolley has been on fire and taking home awards in every competition entered.  “We’ve always loved this beer and we’re just stoked to see it getting so many accolades,” says Segura.  More than 150 breweries from around the world participated in the competition.

The company also had a great showing at the California State Fair Commercial Craft Brew Competition.  Each of the seven beers entered took home a medal or honorable mention—including gold medals for Pintail Pale Ale and Conquistador Doppelbock and silver medals for Blackball Belgian IPA, Windansea Wheat Hefeweizen and Red Trolley Ale.
