July 11, 2011 - PRLog -- MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa in the Seychelles (www.maia.com.sc) prides itself on its intuitive yet discreet service and its commitment to providing guests with memorable experiences.  Taking this to the next level, MAIA has upped its arsenal of ‘big boys toys’ with a resort helipad and the purchase of an amphibian boat – “Sealegs”, to offer guests new and exciting ways to arrive and depart in style and explore the surrounding islands.

The new helipad sits on a secluded hill at the top of the resort which is set on a 30 acre private peninsula on the southwest coast of the main island of Mahé.  Teaming up with Zil Air, the recently launched helicopter company in the Seychelles, guests can enjoy jaunts to Grande Barbe on Silhouette Island, relax on one of La Digue’s most deserted beaches - Anse Cocos and explore the kaleidoscope of colours during a scenic flight over the Seychelles archipelago.  Guests can also chose to arrive (or depart) in style from North Island and Fregate Island, both a 15 minute flight from the heart of MAIA, and personal butlers are on hand to ensure that all needs and wishes are catered for.

“Sealegs” is a motorised skiff with three wheels that allows guests to keep their feet dry and their shoes on when returning from the yachts moored off the resort’s beach or leaving for a day trip.  It also allows for the loading of provisions and supplies for the yachts.  Such is the success of the boat that MAIA chose “Sealegs” as the name for their sponsored catamaran in the recent Seychelles Regatta.
