Families Encouraged To Enjoy A Great Value Day At The Races This Summer

July 13, 2011 - PRLog -- As the school holidays approach and the thought of entertaining the children for six weeks begins to dawn on parents, Newton Abbot Racecourse are reminding locals and holidaymakers that families are very welcome at the races.

Throughout the year children aged 16 or under enjoy free entry to the races when accompanied by an adult, making a day’s horseracing an affordable family outing. From the forthcoming fixture this Sunday until the racemeeting on Thursday 1st September, there will also be added entertainment for children in the Family Enclosure with a bouncy castle and slides.

Situated in the centre of the course, the recently extended Family Enclosure provides spectacular views across the whole course and is situated next to the Happy Days raceday crèche. Furnished with picnic benches, families can bring along a picnic or take advantage of the racecourse’s cafés and bars.

Adding to the great-value appeal of a day at the races, on Monday 1st August the next Super Monday Specials ticket promotion will take place where racegoers can purchase two Paddock Enclosure tickets for the price of one when purchased at least one week in advance. In effect, a family of four could enjoy an afternoon’s racing for just £18. This money-saving offer, which is available for all Monday fixtures at the course, is only available for tickets purchased in advance and is not available on the day.

Patrick Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse commented: “The racecourse always proves to be a popular tourist attraction during the summer months. With the added children’s entertainment over the next six fixtures, we aim to ensure that both the young and old alike have a truly memorable day at the races.”

“During the winter months we extended the Family Enclosure and built new toilet facilities in the centre of the course to better serve the needs of families visiting the course. We hope that these developments will further enhance their experience at Newton Abbot.”

The first race on Sunday begins at 1:55pm. Tickets for Sunday’s fixture are still available and can be purchased in advance or on the gate on the day.
