India-Pakistan Nuclear War Predicted by Author of “Gordion’s Knot”

July 13, 2011 - PRLog -- “Gordion’s Knot” is a new sci-fi thriller.  The author, Rick Tobin, is raising eyebrows by predicting India’s nuclear attack on Pakistan in 2014, which then leads to nuclear winter in the northern latitudes.  When asked about the reason for making this the premise of “Gordion’s Knot,” (which is available on Amazon), Rick said, “Many people think that Iran is the biggest nuclear threat…or maybe North Korea.  Most of my contacts in nuclear defense are more concerned about the continuing escalation of violence between Pakistan and India.  In ‘Gordion’s Knot’ a nuclear attack follows a biological attack on India’s civilians by Pakistani terrorists.  The Indian government has to retaliate with nukes out of their agony and frustration.  I believe this is the way it might happen.”

The theme of “Gordion’s Knot” is that nuclear winter has gripped the Northern Hemisphere for two years and is threatening to activate a new ice age.  James Gordion is a crack climatologist who was caught in the downwind radiation from Pakistan.  In 2016 Gordion struggles with the final stages of cancer from his exposure.  He is also up against a deadline on civilization’s doomsday clock because he is on the verge of saving the world from the grips of nuclear winter.  
Gordion’s greatest supporter is James Allen, a DARPA agent. Allen has many intrigues, including investigating the work of a pro-Nazi geneticist, Dr. Elizabeth Tanner.  Her team in Leipzig, Germany tries to unlock the mysteries of a perfectly preserved, frozen woman, possibly older than written history.  Her icy secrets may be tied to the current climatic crisis.  But the remains are also those of the beloved Basque goddess Mari, protected by an ETA assassin.  

Humanity’s existence hangs in the balance as the paths of the characters in “Gordion’s Knot” collide in the frost of nuclear winter.
